How have you been? It seems a lot changed since you joined another agency.
That is right. Before, I didn’t do entertainment shows. These days, I am doing a lot of radio and magazine photo shoots. My album came out in April and I went to Hong Kong to meet my fans overseas. Now, I am preparing for the next album.
You were rather mysterious before, but now your image is more comfortable. Which one fits you better?
I prefer to be approachable, like a friend living next door. It was great that I could show all of myself on the entertainment shows without any disguise. ‘Unnies’ Slam Dunk 2’ was an entertainment show that I felt the most comfortable. If it were another show, I would have felt very awkward. All of the staff and members were nice and it was successful. I feel comfortable in the shows, but once I go up on stage, I become a charismatic woman again. That is not intentional, but I think it reflects my look and behaviors I had built up until now. I like both of images, one that is comfortable as in the entertainment shows and the other one with charisma on the stage.
The name of your dog is Dougie.
There is a dance from LA called the Dougie Dance and is like a dog dancing with enjoyment. I wanted my dog to be happy all the time so I name it Dougie.
Before debuting in a K-pop group, many idols spend a lot of time together during their trainee days, and their bonds continue to grow as they share the same dorm and attend the same practice schedules on a daily basis.
Some idols, usually the maknae of the group, will leave their homes at a very young age to pursue their dreams. But because they’re so young, they end up being looked after by the rest of the members. With this in mind, here are eight idols who basically grew up with their groups!
7. Gong Minzy
Dance machine Gong Minzy, who joined YG Entertainment at age 11, was mainly raised by the former 2NE1 members throughout both the exhausting training period and the years of fame that followed, before eventually choosing her own path. In the documentary below, the girls gave Minzy fashion tips while she was preparing to attend a rock festival. They also expressed their parental concern upon her growing up, and debated whether they should be cool or strict as parents.

We like to think that idols are just as charismatic off stage as they are on it, but the truth is, idols are just as awkward as we are! They’re even more awkward next to their favorite celebrities. In no particular order, here are eight times K-pop idols were completely starstruck upon finally interacting with their inspirations and ideal types.
