[ARTICLE] Gong Minji’s Side, “Album Preparations Ongoing… Release Schedule Not Yet Set”

Gong Minzy, a former 2NE1 member, has been spending time preparing her new album.

In a telephone conversation with Top Star News on the 4th, Gong Minzy’s agency Music Works said, “We are currently focusing on preparing for the new album.”

They added, “We’re spending time working on music, but the album release schedule has not been fixed internally.”

Gong Minzy, who debuted in 2009 as a member of girl group 2NE1 along with CL, Sandara Park and Park Bom, has drawn attention for her outstanding dance skills.

In particular, Gong Minzy’s aunt, grandmother, was known to be the late Gong Ok-jin, a pioneer of the Goksa dance and one-man Changmu bureau, which surprised everyone.

Gong Minzy, who has received love for her constant music activities, left 2NE1 in 2016 and started her solo career.

Gong Minzy, who left YG Entertainment, made a new home at Music Works, which includes Baek Ji Young, Gilgu Bonggu, MYTEEN and U Sung Eun.

Gong Minzy also released an album (single) through KBS 2TV’s entertainment show “Unnies’ Slam Dunk” in 2017, and participated in the OST of the drama “Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People” and Season 1 of “Partners for Justice” .

In April 2017, she turned into a singer-songwriter by releasing her first solo mini album “MINZY WORK 01 UNO.”

She also performed more mature music through her first English single “ALL OF YOU SAY” released in December of last year.
